Some customers of Internet provider Time Warner Cable in New York City and elsewhere in the Northeast are experiencing a lengthy data outage, the company announced on one of its Twitter feeds Saturday.
The provider posted a notice of the outage for New York City customers to its Twitter help account Saturday morning and then expanded the notice to "northeast customers."
Company representatives did not immediately respond to phone and email requests for comment.
Early Saturday afternoon, the company said in a message posted to its Twitter feed for the New York and New Jersey area that its "engineers are investigating."
Time Warner representatives posted replies to customers that "no timeframe" was being provided for when the outage would be resolved.
