Thousands of action and adventure sports photographers from around the world submitted their best shots to Red Bull's "Illume" contest this year.
Two-hundred-fifty of the best photographs, many of which feature death-defying sportsmanship and breathtaking scenery, have been shortlisted and the top 50 photographs will be announced on Aug. 29 in Hong Kong.
