NEW YORK Emergency crews are on the scene of an apparent explosion in Midtown Manhattan, CBS New York station WCBS-TV reports.
Fire crews rushed into the Viceroy Hotel on 57th Street just before 7 a.m. Thursday. The building is under construction.
One person was hurt when a tool box exploded, WCBS-TV reported. Few other details are known.
Firefighters blocked off part of the sidewalk and the eastbound lanes of traffic.
